Malpositioned dialysis catheters: A case series

چکیده
Hemodialysis catheters (HDC) are the commonly used vascular access for hemodialysis. Functioning is essential adequate dialysis. Dialysis catheter insertion under ultrasound guidance now standard practice and has reduced incidence of mechanical complications during insertion. However, such as tip misplacement puncture mediastinum cannot be prevented by ultrasound-guided procedures alone. We report four cases abnormal positioning HDC emphasize importance fluoroscopy or radiography after procedure to verify position

Pregnancy in dialysis patients: a case series
Fertility is markedly reduced in patients with chronic renal failure. For women with pre-existing renal disease, pregnancy is associated with an increased rate of fetal complications and a considerable risk of renal disease progression. Due to substantial improvements in antenatal and neonatal care, fetal outcome has improved considerably in the last two decade.A Saudi survey which examined the...
متن کاملPeritoneal dialysis peritonitis by anaerobic pathogens: a retrospective case series
BACKGROUND Bacterial infections account for most peritoneal dialysis (PD)-associated peritonitis episodes. However, anaerobic PD peritonitis is extremely rare and intuitively associated with intra-abdominal lesions. In this study, we examined the clinical characteristics of PD patients who developed anaerobic peritonitis. METHODS We retrospectively identified all anaerobic PD peritonitis epis...

متن کاملPatient Outcome in Pregnancy Requiring Dialysis: A Case Series
The optimal management of pregnant dialysis patients remains a great challenge for nephrologists, end-stage renal disease being a predictor of adverse outcomes in this condition. We report a single-center experience of four patients requiring dialysis during pregnancy, all of which resulted in successful delivery of viable infants. Our success rate may reflect an overall improvement in manageme...
متن کاملPleuroperitoneal Leak Complicating Peritoneal Dialysis: A Case Series
Pressure related complications such as abdominal wall hernias occur with relative frequency in patients on peritoneal dialysis. Less frequently, a transudative pleural effusion containing dialysate can develop. This phenomenon appears to be due to increased intra-abdominal pressure in the setting of congenital or acquired diaphragmatic defects. We report three cases of pleuroperitoneal leak tha...
